Robert Brock, the artistic director and founder, lives above the Lancaster Marionette Theatre with his mother, Mary Lou. Together, they have been keeping this Lancaster treasure going for 30 years with unique takes on classic marionette shows for families (Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz, Aladdin) and cabaret-style grown-up shows featuring Robert Brock performing as Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler, and other divas. Brock writes and performs all of the shows and even makes the marionettes himself.
“Rob takes this theatre very seriously. It’s not a joke to him. The amount of effort and dedication to getting one small detail correct is why I’m interested in his story. He’s also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met and I want to put his over-the-top charismatic personality on the big screen. HE is what audiences are paying to see at the Lancaster Marionette Theatre.” –Director Alexander Monelli
“The Lancaster Marionette Theatre is a place where people can escape for 35 minutes, where they can enjoy happy endings, where virtuousness is rewarded and villains are redeemed.” –Robert Brock
Monelli previously captured the spirit of Robert Brock and his marionette theatre back in 2014 with the short, "Man With Puppet." The new feature length version will go deeper into Robert's story, personality, and artistry.
